I. Unchecked Baggage
1. Unchecked Baggage allowance for general Passengers (except infants)
(1) Domestic routes
Passengers holding first class Tickets may carry two pieces of Unchecked Baggage, each weighing no more than 10 kg, with dimensions less than or equal to 20×40×55 cm. Passengers holding premium business class, business class, premium economy class, and economy class Tickets may carry one piece of Unchecked Baggage weighing no more than 8 kg, with dimensions less than or equal to 20×40×55 cm.
(2) International and regional routes
Passengers holding first class Tickets may carry two pieces of Unchecked Baggage, each weighing no more than 10 kg, with dimensions less than or equal to 25×45×56 cm and the linear dimensions less than or equal to 115 cm. Passengers holding premium business class, business class, premium economy class, and economy class Tickets may carry one piece of Unchecked Baggage weighing no more than 8 kg, with dimensions less than or equal to 25×45×56 cm and the linear dimensions less than or equal to 115 cm.
2. Unchecked Baggage allowance for Passengers with infants
In addition to the above-mentioned Unchecked Baggage allowance for general Passengers, Passengers with infants may carry the following carry-on items free of charge.
(1) Food, diapers, and other baby care products needed for the Infant Passenger during transport.
(2) One fully folding lightweight stroller that can be placed in the overhead baggage compartment of the passenger cabin.
(3) One baby bassinet or child/infant restraint (for use when occupying a seat).
3. Other provisions
(1) Baggage brought into the passenger cabin shall be capable of being placed under the seat in front of the Passenger or in the overhead baggage compartment; Baggage exceeding the above limitations in respect of the weight, number, or volume shall be checked in as Checked Baggage.
(2) For the transport specifications of lithium-ion batteries, please refer to the Rules on Safe Transportation of Lithium Battery published on the official website of China Eastern Airlines.

 

II. Free Allowance for Checked Baggage
1. Domestic routes
(1) Free Baggage Allowance for each Passenger (including adult and child ticket holders): 40 kg for first class Passengers, 30 kg for premium business class and business class Passengers, 20 kg for premium economy class and economy class Passengers. There is no Free Baggage Allowance for Passengers with infant tickets; one baby stroller can be checked in free of charge for each infant.
(2) The maximum weight of each piece of Checked Baggage shall not exceed 50 kg, with dimensions not be less than 5×15×20 cm and shall not exceed 40×60×100 cm.
(3) If two or more Passengers traveling on the same Flight to the same destination check in their Baggage at the same place, their Free Baggage Allowance can be counted collectively according to the standard of their respective passenger fare levels.
(4) Passengers who involuntarily change their class of service shall enjoy the Free Baggage Allowance specified in the original Ticket.
(5) For domestic segments of international transport, the Free Baggage Allowance for each Passenger is calculated according to the Free Baggage Allowance of applicable international routes.
(6) Small Animals (except service dogs carried by disabled persons), their containers and food are not included in the Free Baggage Allowance and can only be transported as excess baggage. The Passenger shall pay for the total weight of the Small Animals, their containers, and food according to the applicable excess baggage rate.
(7) Assistive Devices for Passengers with Disabilities (including but not limited to wheelchairs) are not included in the Free Baggage Allowance and can be transported additionally free of charge.
(8) Shanghai Airlines has the right to adjust the Free Baggage Allowance for Checked Baggage on domestic routes. Please refer to the up-to-date information on the official website.
2. International and regional routes
(1) Each Passenger’s Free Baggage Allowance for Unchecked Baggage and Checked Baggage shall be subject to the plans updated and published on the official website of China Eastern Airlines.
(2) For Passengers holding adult or child first class or premium business class or business class Tickets, the linear dimensions of each Checked Baggage shall not exceed 158 cm and the weight shall not exceed 32 kg. For Passengers holding adult or child premium economy class and economy class Tickets, the linear dimensions of each Checked Baggage shall not exceed 158 cm and the weight shall not exceed 23 kg. For Passengers holding infant Tickets, the linear dimensions of each Checked Baggage shall not exceed 115 cm and the weight shall not exceed 10 kg. One baby stroller can be checked in additionally free of charge for each infant.
(3) If two or more Passengers traveling on the same Flight to the same destination check in their Baggage at the same place, their Free Baggage Allowance can be counted collectively according to the standard of their respective passenger fare levels.
(4) The Free Baggage Allowance after the Passenger “voluntarily changes the journey” shall be processed according to the Free Baggage Allowance applicable to the fare level after the change of journey.
(5) Passengers who involuntarily change their class of service shall enjoy the Free Baggage Allowance specified in the original Ticket.
(6) The Free Baggage Allowance for Connecting Flights is calculated in accordance with the relevant regulations of Shanghai Airlines and International Air Transport Association (IATA).
(7) Small Animals (except service dogs carried by disabled persons), their containers, and food are not included in the Free Baggage Allowance and can only be transported as excess baggage. The Passenger shall pay for the total weight of the Small Animals, their container, and food according to the applicable excess baggage rate.
(8) Assistive Devices for Passengers with Disabilities (including but not limited to wheelchairs) are not included in the Free Baggage Allowance and can be transported additionally free of charge.

 

III. Excess Baggage Charges
1. Domestic routes
(1) Shanghai Airlines uses the weight system to calculate the Free Baggage Allowance on all domestic routes.
(2) The portion of the Checked Baggage that exceeds the Free Baggage Allowance of the Passenger shall be referred to as excess baggage, and the Passenger shall pay the excess baggage charges.
(3) The excess baggage check shall be issued to the Passenger when the excess baggage charge is collected.
(4) Excess baggage rate: Each kilogram is calculated at 1.5% of the applicable Normal Fare for one-way non-stop adult economy class Ticket published on that day, and the total amount charged shall be payable in RMB, with the number rounded to the nearest unit and the digit after the decimal point rounded off.
2. International and regional routes
(1) Shanghai Airlines calculate the Free Baggage Allowance by counting the piece of Baggage on all international and regional routes.
(2) The portion of the Checked Baggage that exceeds the Free Baggage Allowance of the Passenger shall be referred to as excess baggage, and the Passenger shall pay the excess baggage charges.
(3) The excess baggage check shall be issued to the Passenger when the excess baggage charge is collected.
(4) The excess baggage rate shall be subject to the plan updated on the official website of China Eastern Airlines, and the amount charged shall be in the currency of the country or region, with the number rounded to the nearest unit and the digit after the decimal point rounded off.

 

IV. Validity
These Regulations shall come into effect on September 1st, 2021.
