In order to provide high-quality and convenient services to a wide range of passengers, China Eastern Air Holding Company. (hereinafter referred to as ‘China Eastern Airlines’) has launched online check-in services, allowing passengers to check themselves in using the China Eastern Airlines electronic ticketing website.[Official name from website: http://en.ceair.com/about/zjdh/index.html] Passengers are kindly requested to abide by the terms of this Agreement in order to facilitate the implementation of these services provided for the convenience of our passengers.
 
1. This Agreement is applicable to passengers travelling on China Eastern Airlines flights with electronic tickets who have already made their seat reservations. Online check-in is not available for passengers travelling on paper tickets.
2. Applicable passengers: adult passengers and accompanied children, not including infant passengers. Passengers who have requested special services or meals are asked to check in at the airport counter on the day of travel.
3. Baggage check procedures cannot be completed through online check-in. Passengers who wish to check baggage are asked to arrive at the China Eastern Airlines self-service check-in counter or staffed check-in counter at the airport at least 1 hour in advance in order to check their baggage. Any luggage over 20 cm×40 cm×55 cm in size or weighing more than 5 kg must be checked. Checked baggage must comply with the relevant security requirements, including items that must be checked, such as alcoholic beverages, knives, dangerous articles, etc. Valuables, travel documents, fragile items and dangerous items, such as those that are flammable, explosive or corrosive, are prohibited from transport in checked baggage. Lighters and matches are prohibited from being carried on one's person or transported in either hand baggage or checked baggage.
Rules for the safe air transport of lithium batteries are as follows: (1) Portable electronic devices containing lithium-metal or lithium-ion batteries or battery packs for the personal use of passengers or crew, such as watches, calculators, mobile phones, laptop computers, and camcorders; (2) Spare lithium-metal or lithium-ion batteries or battery packs: spare lithium batteries for portable electronic devices may only be carried in hand baggage. Such spare batteries may be placed in the original retail packaging or other individual separate packaging and precautions must be taken to prevent short circuits for each individual battery, such as: covering exposed terminals with tape, placing each battery in a separate plastic bag or protective carrier, and only carrying the batteries in hand baggage. In addition, each lithium battery or battery pack either in use within a device or carried as a spare may not exceed the following requirements: a) the lithium content of lithium-metal or lithium alloy batteries must not exceed 2 g; or b) the watt-hour rating of lithium-ion batteries or battery packs must not exceed 100 Wh; (3) Lithium-ion batteries or battery packs. Lithium-ion portable electronic devices exceeding 100 Wh but below 160 Wh. Only 2 spare lithium-ion batteries or battery packs as described above may be carried in carry-on baggage. Precautions must be taken for each individual battery (or battery pack) to prevent short circuits. Lithium-ion batteries or battery packs as described above that are in use within devices may be transported in either hand baggage or checked baggage.
Passengers are prohibited from carrying Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones onto the plane either on their person or within hand baggage; passengers are prohibited from placing Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones into their checked baggage for transport; Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones and the lithium-ion batteries used in them are prohibited from being transported as air cargo on the company’s passenger and cargo aircraft.

4. Tickets that have already been used for check-in at the check-in counter cannot then be used again for online check-in.
5. Passengers who have already completed online check-in procedures must be sure to pass through security and complete security check procedures 40 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Boarding passes stamped with the security check seal are considered to be valid documents for boarding the plane; other copies or unstamped boarding passes are not considered to be valid boarding documents.
6. Aircraft doors will close 15 minutes before departure, so please be sure to board the aircraft on time. Passengers themselves are responsible for missed flights.
7. Boarding gates may be changed at short notice, so please check information screens or ask a China Eastern Airlines staff member to confirm the boarding gate after arriving at the airport.
8. Seat numbers may change under special circumstances (such as flight changes), so please cooperate with the arrangements made by China Eastern Airlines staff members.
9. Passengers who are unable to make their flight after having completed online check-in must cancel their online check-in at least 1 hour prior to the scheduled departure time. Passengers may only cancel three online check-ins for a single flight. If the passenger has already arrived at the airport, online check-in can still be cancelled by visiting either the China Eastern Airlines self-service check-in counter or staffed check-in counter, where a staff member will assist you with cancelling the online check-in.
10. Under exceptional circumstances, China Eastern Airlines will close online check-in for specific flights. We apologise for any inconvenience. Passengers encountering unforeseen circumstances are asked to ring the customer services hotline at 95530.
11. Other instructions: When boarding, passengers shall ensure that their travel documents are legitimate and valid. Passengers are responsible for any consequences arising from problems such as invalid documents or names on documents that do not match. (Passengers whose names include rare characters or a mixture of Chinese characters and Pinyin spellings are kindly asked to check-in at the airport counter).
