Friendly Reminder to Passenger Departing from China to New Zealand on the Latest Epidemic Controlling Policy and Travel Restrictions

Dear passengers:

To ensure your travel goes well, please check carefully before you travel and confirm in advance whether you meet all the entry and transit regulations of the origin, stopover, transit, or destination countries. Take full personal protection during the nucleic acid test and on the flight and cooperate with our staff with various inspections.

 

In accordance with the requirements of the New Zealand government policy update, please note for passengers departing from China: From 11:59pm (NZT) on 20 June 2022, transit passengers, whose first international flight to New Zealand, no longer need a pre-departure test, to be vaccinated, to complete the New Zealand Traveller Declaration(NZTD). But the passengers must meet the requirement for holding a New Zealand Transit Visa or NZeTA(Passengers who meet the relevant conditions of the New Zealand government may not need to provide it). The requirements for transit in New Zealand must still be followed. It is still necessary to ensure that all entry requirements for any transit countries and final destination country are met.

 

It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure that they can transit through New Zealand and enter any destination country on their journey. If passengers do not meet requirements, they may not be able to board. In accordance with the requirements of the New Zealand government, passengers departing from China to New Zealand should pay attention to the following travel instructions:

 

1.According to the government policy update, from 21 June passengers no longer need a pre-departure test to enter New Zealand Travellers whose first international flight to New Zealand departs after 11:59pm (NZT) Monday 20 June 2022 do not need pre-departure tests.

Most travellers still need to be vaccinated, and take 2 rapid antigen tests (RATs) after arriving in New Zealand.

If you transit through New Zealand, you no longer need to be vaccinated, or complete the New Zealand Traveller Declaration.

2.Starting from 11:59 pm on March 31, 2022, all passengers to entry New Zealand can start their declaration (New Zealand Traveller Declaration, NZTD) in 28 days before they travel and must complete a declaration and obtain a NZTD travel pass prior to check-in. Passengers will need to present this pass when checking in at the airport and to present to customs upon arrival in New Zealand. If passengers do not complete your declaration, or passenger’s declaration does not meet the requirements, and passengers do not have a Traveller Pass, the airline may not let them board. The traveller pass may be presented as a physical document or in an electronic format by displaying the PDF on a device such as a smartphone. 3. Most passengers to entry New Zealand must meet COVID-19 vaccine requirements before travelling to New Zealand by air — unless you are not required to provide proof of vaccination or have a medical exemption. If you do not meet the vaccination requirements, you will not be able to enter New Zealand. The vaccination certification should have the following elements: name, passport number, name of one or more vaccines, vaccination date (the date of each dose or the date when a primary vaccination course was completed), and the name of the agency that administered them, etc.

 

Passengers who do not need to provide proof of vaccination: New Zealand citizens, New Zealand residence class visa holder, Australian citizen living in New Zealand, travelers under the age of 17, those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons (need to provide an electronic or paper medical certifications). Some passengers need to meet requirements such as applying for a vaccination waiver before travel. 4. New Zealand’s borders are reopening in stages throughout 2022. Passengers who meet relevant conditions can entry into New Zealand.
